Socialising > Activities
Social activities that offer elderly people the opportunity to socialise can enhance their lives, and have a beneficial effect on their physical and emotional well-being. Depending on the interests of the individual person, there are a wide range of activities available that can be undertaken either in a large or small group of people at a range of venues. Many clubs for older people meet regularly to engage in group activities such as games, dance, exercise, and refreshments, whilst some clubs can have a special interest such as reading, writing, or gardening. Various organisations also organise group activities for older people like reminiscence therapy, outings, parties, dementia activities, and computer skills. Less formally, activities such as social eating, drinking, or cooking groups may be available or arranged.
