This report (and companion volume ‘I never thought I’d be doing this . .’) look at Anchor’s Local Service Networks in Brighton and Hartlepool, which aim to test the effectiveness of a community development approach to preventative work with older people.
Community development is a planned way of working, which sets out to involve people in their local neighbourhoods and give them the tools to influence the issues that affect them. Overall, community development works to improve the quality of community life.
