Disabled Facilities Grant

Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) is a means-tested grant that enables the home of disabled homeowners and private tenants to be adapted to meet their needs, with for example, a walk-in shower or stair lift. The disabled occupant must agree to live in the property for at least five years after the works are completed, unless health reasons mean they will live in the property for a shorter time. If they choose to leave the property in this time then they may have to repay some, or all, of the grant.
