Disability Living Allowance

Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is a non-means tested,non-taxable, allowance for people under 65 years, who are physically or mentally disabled and need either personal care or help with mobility or both.

DLA is no longer available to new claimants as it is being gradually repalced by Personal Independent Payments (PIP).
