Quality ratings featured on HousingCare care home pages

HousingCare’s Directory of Care Homes now features quality ratings provided by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England.

Initially controversial, CQC’s ratings were dropped for a while, but then re-instated as even their critics came round to the view that they provided invaluable guidance for care seekers about both the strengths and weaknesses of individual care homes.

Almost all England care home pages on our site now show a summary of their CQC quality rating, from which you can click through to CQC’s own website to read its most recent report on a home.

Your Care Rating

Your Care Rating is another respected quide to quality, devised and funded by a group of care home operators themselves, and running since 2013. Ratings are based on detailed annual surveys of residents, and a comprehensive report on each home is produced and can be viewed or downloaded from the Your Care Rating website. Since its launch, we have supported Your Care Rating and included links to its reports on our care home pages for all homes covered.
