Amble introduces older adults to warm, vetted companions for regular visits and good company. It is a personal, curated service - we take time to find the right person.

We start with a consultation with the older person and their family: interests, routine, sense of humour, and what good company looks like for them. We then hand-pick a shortlist of companions matched on shared interests - gardening, crosswords, old films - not simply on who is free. Every companion has a live, scored video interview, and we would rather say no than send the wrong person.

Visits are conversation, company and time well spent - a walk, a game of cards, a trip to the garden centre, a chat over tea. After every visit the family receives a warm summary. We stay alongside both sides for as long as the match continues.

Amble is companionship, not care. Companions do not provide personal care, medication or medical tasks, and Amble is not a regulated care service.

Older adults who would enjoy regular company and conversation - someone to look forward to, chosen for them rather than assigned to them. Amble helps tackle loneliness and helps people reconnect with the things and places they love.

It is equally for families. Many live at a distance or are stretched by their own commitments, and want to know a reliable, well-matched, vetted person is visiting Mum or Dad. Some older people choose Amble for themselves.

Where someone lives with memory loss, we match them with a companion who has experience of memory loss.

Where personal or medical care is needed, Amble sits alongside it but does not replace it.

Amble is a private membership service.

• Introduction fee £159 - the consultation, the hand-picked shortlist and the match.
• Membership £39 a calendar month per person visited. The price you join at is the price you keep.
• Founding Families joining by 31 December 2026: £99 introduction fee, then £20 a month.
• Visits: each companion sets their own rate against a £45 guide rate for two hours, including travel within 15 miles round trip. No mileage, no hidden extras.

Nothing is paid until you have chosen your companion. Each visit is charged 24 hours before it takes place. Membership can be paused for 1 to 3 months or ended at any time.

After the consultation you receive a curated shortlist of up to five companions, matched on shared interests, with enough about each to choose with confidence.

Every companion has been interviewed live and scored. DBS and right-to-work checks must clear before any first visit goes ahead.

Once you have chosen, visits are booked at a rhythm that suits - weekly is typical. Each visit is logged with a check-in and check-out, and the family receives a warm summary afterwards. If a match ever needs adjusting, we sort it.

Amble is a concierge service, not a directory or an agency roster: matched on interests, chosen by hand, supported after every visit. Families never sift through profiles - we do the choosing with you.

Every companion is interviewed, reference-checked, DBS-checked and right-to-work checked before a first visit. Amble carries public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
