What does it do?

The Home Improvement Loan is supported by a number of local authorities across the South Coast.

Loans enable homeowners to carry out improvements, repairs and adaptations. We have a number of borrowing options tailored to suit your circumstances. You can be assured of:
  • A fixed rate of interest, guaranteed for the full term of the loan.
  • The option to make overpayments or settle the loan in full without penalty.
  • Guidance on how to choose a reputable contractor
  • A dedicated loans officer who will work with you throughout the process.

Who it is for?

Home Improvement Loans are available to homeowners who require repairs, adaptations and improvement works to be carried out on their properties.

Maybe:
- You have a leaking roof.
- Your boiler has broken.
- Your windows are draughty.
- You don’t have adequate heating and need a central heating system installed.
- You would like to adapt your bathroom to a wet-room

You could also use this loan for other purposes, such as helping to make a contribution towards a Disabled Facilities Grant or for common-parts works.

The eligibility criteria relating to appropriate work can vary, so please contact us for more information.  


It does not matter what type of income you are in receipt of, we will carry out a full assessment to ensure a loan is affordable.

Regional service (East Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex).

What it costs:

There are a number of borrowing options, tailored to suit your circumstances. The loans officer will work with you to decide on the best option for you.

A fee nominal fee is payable which includes securing the charge at Land Registry, full details will be discussed with you and is only payable if you proceed with the loan.

or visit http://paritytrust.org.uk/ and a short phone interview will determine if we may be able to help. If you are eligible for the loan scheme, a home visit will be arranged with a loans officer.

What to expect then:

The loans officer will conduct a full financial review and if a loan is appropriate, will advise of the most appropriate loan option available to you.

Shortly after the visit, you will be sent a financial report so that you can verify that the information is correct. A credit check would be carried out and also a search at HM Land Registry to confirm ownership of the property. Then, if the Home Improvement Loan is right for you, you will be sent the loan agreement.
