St Mark's Family Centre

What does it do?

Our popular lunch club is for anyone aged 50 years or over. It is a friendly and supportive environment with all types of people having a good lunch and staying for activities after. Transport is available for those with mobility problems who cannot get to the Centre on their own, but this is limited to the Mitcham area.

Occasionally we have big events with live entertainment and are always running local trips to places of interest or meals out. We encourage members to make suggestions for activities and trips so they are always of inertest.

Apart from the lunch club we also run two Silver Surfer sessions a week for those interested in learning about how to use computers. Although we teach the basics, members can also set their own programme of learning and we have had Christmas cards etc. in Microsoft Publisher and have used PowerPoint presentations. From September we will be having a new training facility which will make our Silver Surfer sessions far more accessible and able to take on extra members.

And don’t forget apart from the staff always striving to be helpful, we have regular Citizen’s Advice Bureau sessions for those who need them
