The Uplifters - bringing uplifting theatre to you.
My partner Rowan Dixon and I, are professional actors/singers who have many years experience performing at large, and small scale venues – from The London Palladium, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We are producers and performers of 'The Uplifters’, delivering top quality, musical shows to the over 60's community.
Over the last couple of years we have been touring small scale shows to residential nursing, care homes, day care centres & clubs, which we both love doing. Singing songs which bring memories flooding back, and are often sung along to, as well as performing amusing sketches, poetry and comedy to lift the spirits. We have our own set and numerous costumes as well as characters to keep it interesting and stimulating for residents.
Our shows have approx 50 minute duration. We like to spend time before and/or after to chat with the audience, which is a vital part of our visit. We usually perform at 11am, 2pm & 4.30pm, although we can be flexible, dependant on location, we can also arrange evening performances, if preferable.
