The Great Songs of the 20th Century

A session (say 60/90 minutes) where I present songs and recount stories behind their conception and about the performers/writers ….+ films/shows from which they come I should clarify that I do not sing or perform the songs, I use CD and MP3 audio I propose concentrating on the standard Popular Song, written between 1910 and say, 1980.  The emphasis being on tuneful material performed by quality artistes e.g. Crosby,Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Jack Jones ……………. and many others incl.more recent, if of appeal For variety, possibly some video could be used.  I have presented similar sessions at Adult Residential Colleges (ARCA) in locations such as The Hill, Abergavenny –Knuston Hall, Irthlingborough and the University of Cambridge at Madingley.  These were either weekend courses or e.g. Tuesda yevenings for several months I envisage presenting a set program, albeit with provision for requests to be taken, the majority of which could hopefully be satisfied,on subsequent visits I would hope that the sessions would incorporate some participation/discussion,although this would have to be reasonably tightly controlled I have in mind doing the sessions once a month. Please telephone should you wish me to provide anyfurther information, or to arrange a meeting to discuss I look forward to hearing from you.
