Silver Sounds
We are Brighton & Hove's only Senior Samba Band!
Silver Sounds was formed in 2001 by a group of older people belonging to the Brighton & Hove Coalition of Older People. We are a Samba Drumming & Percussion Band specialising in the rhythms of Brazil and South America.
Paul Dodd our Mestre has been conducting the Band since 2001.
Our youngest member is 50+ and our oldest are 70+.
If we are performing outside we bring on the dancers!
Our fee is £50 (travelling expenses) when we are fortunate enough to secure a grant from Brighton & Hove Council (which we did in 2015/16). Otherwise our fee will be more.
