Notes of Life
Richard began playing brass at the age of 9 and transferred his skills at the age of 16. He was working as a professional musician 5 years later. He studied the Organ in Tauranga New Zealand with different musicians around the country, where he learned his skills as a church organist. He is also going to study under trinity and ABRSM to continue with musical academic qualifications to grade 8 during this time and he moved to return home to England to play music in Southport and York, where he held the post of church organist for 6 years. As an organist, pianist and keyboard player, Richard is now a leading wedding musician performing all over Northern England and Yorkshire, playing in churches and civic venues for Wedding Ceremonies and Breakfasts. as well as saying that final goodbye and making your final goodbye that little bit easier. He plays for all types of events, Drinks Receptions, Summer and Christmas Balls, Birthday and Anniversary parties etc. All styles of music are covered, from classical to jazz, pop and rock. Regular wedding venues include, St Pauls Evenwood where I hold director of music and organist in residence. and also play in Cockfield and Lynesack as well as around Liverpool and the North East Richard is a member of Musicians Union and holds Public Liability Insurance. He also performs regularly as a resident Entertainer at Kingswood Manor Rest home in Liverpool. As well as being a traditional wedding organist, Richard offers the option of taking his Korg PA50SD keyboard into church to enhance the pipe organ. This option is often used in small village churches when the organ is too small to play the requested music, or no organ is present. The keyboard are programmed to tastefully reproduce cathedral organ, piano and orchestral sounds - to be used side by side with the main organ. This means that any requested music, in any style, using any instruments, can be performed in any church or civic venue - in grand style. A member of musicians union with PLI.
