I am a Reigate based pianist (inc. keyboards of course) and I have a pretty wide repertoire,  largely based around what is loosely known as the ‘Great American Songbook’.   This focuses primarily on numbers by Jerome Kern (the best in my opinion), Irving Berlin, George Gershwin. Cole Porter, Frank Loesser, Rogers & Hart, Johnny Mercer, Hoagy Carmichael and so on

Because your guests are likely to be of a certain age, it is probable that such a repertoire will be of appeal to them.  In my experience, some pianists opt to play World War 1 songs in care homes, (which is wrong I feel)  and your residents will be much more familiar with and will enjoy songs from WW2 and later from 50s and 60s musicals.  I will also happily deal with requests.  

I can handle these and (in all modesty), I am more flexible than many in that, should someone wish to sing (staff or resident), I can change to a suitable key with no problem.   I can also ‘swing it’ when required.  And, of course, I do encourage audience participation.

I do charge for my services at what I regard as the very reasonable rate of £ 50 an hour (on average, an hour would contain some 15- 18 songs).  I can also sing a little, if needed  (the reality is that I often play for over an hour but I do not charge for this)
