Katy Allan
Katy delivers dementia-friendly singing sessions and informal concerts in care homes and dementia cafes across Derbyshire and Cheshire, singing the beautiful tunes of Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, and Vera Lynn to name a few.
Singing and music is proven to have a deep impact on those living with dementia, and Katy is privileged to see this happen and play a small part in the magical moments that music creates.
Katy recently graduated with a first class honours degree from the Royal Northern College of Music studying Vocal and Opera studies. Whilst studying, Katy worked at a local care home in Buxton for 2 years and this is where her rapport with the elderly began.
