John Baker
I am a musician and singer with over 20 years experience. I perform acoustically using violin, flute, drum and voice.My main influence is Irish and Celtic folk music and I have a wide range of tunes and songs from this genre. Since performing professionally in care homes I have begun adding popular sing-a-long classics to this repertoire which I like to mix up with my own improvisations and bits of folklore and occasional poetry. I encourage audience participation in any form and can usually get the group singing, clapping or even dancing. When things go well I have been known to dance while playing and I am working at singing and playing the violin together at the same time. Music has been a great source of inspiration and healing to me in my own life and I like to share this with others.
