My name is Beck (short for Rebecca) and I am an award-winning songwriter, singer and guitarist from Australia. I LOVE to sing! Now based in the UK, I have recently moved to Lancing in West Sussex and I am hoping that you might be interested in inviting me to sing and play music for your residents and guests. The music that I would perform is a gentle blend of old Irish balladsand folk songs, as well as some popular songs by well-known artists, for example Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Bing Crosby and more. Of course, with Christmas approaching, I could also perform a few seasonal songs. I have entertained at nursing and residential care homes in Australia previously (and recently at Hyman Fine House - Jewish Care Home - in Brighton), and I have found that sometimes people like to close their eyes, relax and listen, and sometimes people respond in an animated way, and I then encourage them to sing along with me. Sometimes there is a mixture of both reactions and responses. Either way, I would hope that my music would provide a pleasant diversion and some enjoyable entertainment. I also tell little stories between the songs about growing up in Australia, and touring around the UK. I am a friendly, positive person and I really enjoy meeting new people and having a chat.
