MHA Communities - Winchester

Socialising, friends, companions, keeping in touch, loneliness

What does it do?

Through befriending, lunch clubs, assisted shopping, activity and friendship sessions, outings and much more, MHA Communities across the UK help to tackle loneliness and isolation in people over 60 - helping them to lead fulfilled lives and remain as active members in their local communities.

MHA Communities Winchester provides volunteer based support and friendship to older people across the Winchester District, including Alresford, Colden Common and Waltham Chase, who still live in their own home and may have become isolated and lonely for whatever reason.

Through our able team of volunteers we are able to offer opportunities for companionship, support and advice. We have services which can be offered at home and group activities in a place where you can be among friends. These include our weekly schedule of clubs and activities,  our one-to-one services and the opportunity to join our regular outings and  annual holiday.  Above all you will know that there is always someone to turn to for help, advice or simply a chat.

Activities at MHA Communities Winchester include:

  • Singing for Wellbeing
  • Exercise classes for a range of abilities
  • Lunch groups
  • Activity days
  • At home and telephone befriending
  • Transport
  • Regular outings
  • Annual holiday
