What does it do?

Housing Grants

The Home Improvement Agency is dedicated to helping older, disabled and vulnerable residents within the borough of Burnley to live safely and independently in their own home.  The Home Improvement Agency is available for older or disabled people who need help repairing, maintaining or adapting their home.

The housing renewal policy sets out Burnley Council’s policies in relation to private sector renewal and focusses specifically on the provision of financial assistance and other forms of assistance that the council is able to offer to improve the standards of housing and the quality of life for qualifying residents. This financial assistance includes: 
- Disabled Facilities Grants
- Emergency Works Grants
- Home Improvement Dementia Grants
- Energy Efficiency Rebate Grant
- Safe and Secure Grant
- Relocation Grant
- Home Displacement Grant
- Handyperson
- Declutter and Clean Grant
