Telephone Befriending across the UK.

What does it do?

Chatterbox is a free telephone befriending service for socially isolated and lonely people.  Our clients are carefully matched to DBS-checked volunteer befrienders, with whom they exchange supportive, friendly phone calls.  The chat about their lives, families and interests.

Who it is for?

This service is for anyone who would benefit from a weekly telephone call from a friendly volunteer Befriender. We have a specific focus on those who are socially isolated or at risk of becoming so, lonely, a carer or someone adjusting to life after caring, recently bereaved, or living with a life-limiting illness, but will welcome anyone to the service who we believe we can help.

National service (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales).

What it costs:

Chatterbox is free for anyone who wishes to access it.
