Adult Social Care
Care and support for older people in HackneyWhat does it do?
We are committed to helping people who need adult social care and support in Hackney. We provide services for older people, adults with physical and sensory disabilities, learning difficulties or mental health problems and those who are no longer able to manage without help.
-
We will focus on re-abling people, helping them to recover and avoid life long dependency on large care packages.
-
We will assess people's needs and provide them with services to aid recovery and recuperation before agreeing long-term services.
-
We will not transfer older people from a hospital bed to a care home without carrying out a longer term assessment.
-
We are committed to achieving value for money and procuring quality and affordable services.
-
We will use personal budgets and direct payments to give people greater choice and control by choosing services from a set menu or developing their own creative solutions.
-
We will develop community based services that encourage good neighbourliness and help people feel less isolated and social excluded.
-
We will support user-led organisations, social enterprises and other groups that share our committment to helping people.
