Broadhurst OptometristsProfessional home eye testing service in the Preston/Fylde/Wyre areas.
What does it do?
Our Domiciliary (At Home) Eyecare Service is available to all patients requiring a home visit.
The NHS allows certain categories of NHS patients to qualify for a home visit, at times when it is not possible to attend a community practice, unaccompanied.
Our optometrists are able to perform all the necessary elements of an eye examination using mobile equipment. This Domiciliary Eye Examination includes all the necessary procedures expected under our additional NHS contract.
Further assessment/information may be provided on the following:
- Low Vision Aid – we are an accredited provider of the service originally set up by the North West Lancs Health Authority to provide Low Vision Aids at no charge to the patient, when clinically necessary.
- Referral to a consultant where necessary.
- A brief report to aid family/carers to know what has taken place and what has been said.
Broadhurst Optometrists own dispensers accompany our optometrist, carrying a comprehensive range of frames and will advise on any NHS allowances that may be applicable following the examination.
If any frames are ordered, our dispenser will take all of the necessary measurements and will deliver and adjust them when they are ready.
Being locally based, they are always available to be called back, should the need arise for further adjustments or following accidents or breakage.
We will advise the patient/carer when the next examination falls due, in order to provide continuity of care.
