Health information for patients of Poole Hospital and their families.

What does it do?

We aim to provide a wide range of up-to-date, relevant information and to give this information in a variety of formats within a confidential and supportive environment.  We will help you to find the information you need to enable you to make choices for your situation.

The hospital's Patient Advice and Lisison Service (PALS) also works from the centre.  If you, your relatives or carer are unhappy with any aspect of care or the service you have received, PALS can offer advice and support.  You can contact PALS on 01202 448499.

The Poole Citizens Advice Bureau offers and advice service once a week for any patients of the hospital.  This service is by prior appointment only.  The centre also offers access off site to Macmillan cancer benefits advisors for cancer patients and their families.  Again this service is by appointmehnt only.

Poole Hospital's Health Information Centre provides a full and comprehensive information service to patients, relatives, carers and health professionals.

Local service (Bournemouth, Poole).

What it costs:

The service is free of charge.   Donations are welcome for any photocopying done at the centre.  The centre reserves the right to charge a reasonable fee for larger amounts of photocopying.

By telephone on 01202 448003, by e mail at Enquiries@poole.nhs.uk or in person at the Health Information Centre during opening hours, Monday to Friday.

Additional information:

The Health Information Centre is situated adjacent to the hospital's multi-storey car park on Longfleet Road.
