Information and Advice Service
Free information and advice for older peopleWhat does it do?
Membership
We want members to find real value in becoming and remaining members of SPC. We will improve our membership offer by making it more attractive to be or to remain an individual or affiliated group member of the Centre by keeping prices low and increasing the range of free or member only events
Energy MOTs
Phone SPC for an appointment about energy advice on 020 7708 4556. We check that you are paying as little as possible for your energy costs, that you are benefiting from any energy discounts and grants and that you are on the energy register in case of an energy shutdown. We can also refer you to other organisations for an overall energy assessment of your home to help you reduce your energy costs. We also organise group energy clinics which we call ‘Winter Warmers’.
Health & Wellbeing
We will continue to actively promote the health and wellbeing of older people so that they enjoy healthy, independent, active, in touch and fulfilling lives through activities, holidays, day trips, health promotion events and member support. We seek to prevent or reduce deterioration in the mental health and wellbeing of older people.
Getting and Staying Online
We will promote and develop digital inclusion among older people by supporting them to get online and safely use computers and other devices and by offering a range of ways for members to connect to activities and services by run by Southwark Pensioners Centre.
