Home Visiting Optician

Free eyetest for housebound residents in Lancashire, Greater Mancheste

What does it do?

I am a friendly Lancashire based mobile optician. I've been qualified for over 8 years. My main area of interest is falls prevention and dementia. Contrary to what people may think, an eye test can be carried out very easily on those with dementia with reliable results. Please ask me for more information on this. With regards to falls prevention, I conduct other tests not routinely carried out in home visit eye tests to determine if eyes can be the cause of falls in a patient. The home visit eye test is more specialised than a routine eye test and requires both skill and patience so please be re-assured.

I also insist on family, friends and carers to be present during the appointment as a) it re-assures both the patient and family b) better compliance for the eye test is ensured.

I'm also CRB checked and a member of the General Optical Council as well as The Association of Optometrists.

Appointment times last around 40 minutes to an hour.

I will deliver and fit glasses myself and I am flexible on appointment times. Evening and emergency out of hours appointments are also available. I'm available at all times in case you need to reach me for any query.
