We offer a range of services for older people that have been developed to help you get the most from life. For example, if you want to stay in your own home you can get help from our reablement services or visit a day centre a few times a week.
Sometimes it is not possible to continue to live in your own home safely. If this is the case, we can help arrange other accommodation for you. Whatever your circumstances, we want you to live as independently as possible.
Services provided can include:
• healthcare
• equipment
• help in your home or in a care home
• community support and activities
• day centres
• help for people with disabilities
• financial support
• information and advisory services, and advocacy
• support for carers
Who it is for?
Most people find there are times when they need help from someone. Illness, disability or frailty are just a few examples of the circumstances which can make it difficult for a person to cope with daily life.

Local service (Durham, Easington, Teesdale, Wear Valley, Chester-le-Street, Derwentside, Sedgefield).
What it costs:
There is a scale of charges for home care services, with a maximum and minimum charge. A financial assessment will be carried out to work out how much you will have to pay.
