Improvement & repairs

Help to to repair, improve, maintain or adapt your home

What does it do?

We want to meet your needs and make your home as suitable as possible and need to consider a number of things before making a decision to go ahead, such as whether there is a recognised need for the adaptation.

Sometimes we are unable to make the changes you request. It may be that the work is too expensive or it could affect the structure of the house and make it unsafe.

In these cases, we could help you move to a suitable alternative home and would make every effort to make sure you are happy with the outcome.

We use specialist contractors to carry out all our adaptation work and have money put aside to pay for these.

Our commitment means that we will:

  • Support as many customers as we can by working with other organisations to find extra funding.
  • Find out if you are satisfied with the work.
  • Service stair lifts and hoists every 12 months.
  • Aim to complete all adaptations within six months of your request being approved.

Who it is for?

Homeowners aged 60 or over, or those who have:

  • a disability or impairment, or
