What does it do?

Care and Repair provide a wide range of home improvement services which include:

  • Referral to trusted contractors who for an agreed fee will carry out small repairs, such as putting up curtain rails.
  • Offer advice in relation to keep your home warm and improve energy efficiency.

Handy Person Service

Care and Repair's Handy Person Service is available for Blackpool Coastal Housing residents who may find it difficult to carry out smaller jobs around the home. There is a small charge for work undertaken which will be discussed with each resident.  It is available to anyone over 60 or to those under 60 with a disability.

Who it is for?

At Care and Repair we are able to support residents that meet the following criteria:

  • 60 years of age and over, living in your own home, private renting or a council tenant.
  • Under 60 years of age, living in your own home and currently receiving income support, employment and support allowance and disability living allowance.

Where it is available?

Local service (Blackpool).

What to expect then:

Initially, you will be able to discuss your particular requirements with one of our knowledgeable service advisors and if it looks like we can help then we can arrange for a home visit from one of our specialist caseworkers to discuss your circumstances in more detail.  Should you decide to use our service then one of our surveyors will visit you to help plan, assess and organise the proposed work.
