Handyman and IT

Internet, computer, small jobs, handyman

What does it do?

DIY

Our DIY service is available to people over the age of 60, living in the borough of Epsom & Ewell who have no one else to help with small DIY or gardening tasks.

The work is done by volunteers and it is important to consider the following points:
- Our employers personal accident insurance covers the volunteers to do ‘low key maintenance work’
- No electrical, plumbing work  or use of heat producing equipment such as a blow torch
- The volunteers can use either your tools or they may provide their own. They will check the safety of any equipment before use.
- They may only use a stepladder that takes their head height from the ground to no more than 3 metres (10ft)
- They are unable to do any jobs that require safety clothing or protection

All labour is free of charge.  Any materials required to carry out the work must be paid for by the client.  We do ask for a donation of £10 per visit which contributes towards our administrative costs.

IT Support

Are you frightened of your computer?
Do you know what an iPad is?

Maybe you would like to send an email to a loved one?

If you would like help getting to grips with your computer, phone or tablet, one of our IT volunteers can help. All visits take place in your home so that you can learn at your own pace and with your own computer or device.

I.T. Club

We run a friendly monthly IT group at the Age Concern Office which generally runs on the last Tuesday of the month from 2-4pm. We talk about various IT related topics and swap ideas and experiences.

*We kindly ask for a donation of £5 to cover costs.

We also have a free online group which is connected by email – it is through this that information about the next IT group is sent out. It can also be used to ask IT related questions. If you would like to be on the list, please let us know your email address via the “Contact Us” link below

We only have a certain amount of places available, so booking is essential.
