Befriending older people through volunteering in the communityWhat does it do?
Matches local volunteers of all ages and professions with local people over 60 yrs who would benefit from a weekly visit offering companionship, someone to have a good chat with, share stories, play cards, the choice's are theirs. The rewards are endless and allow for an
enriching social benefit for both the volunteer and person being visited.
Who it is for?
Anyone who is 60 yrs or over who lives in Sandford, Banwell, Winscombe, Churchill or Langford and finds themselves spending more time than they would like to on their own and feel they would benefit from a weekly visit.

What to expect then:
Once a referral has been made, you will be visited by the Community Befriending Officer who will asses your need and find a suitable volunteer to visit you weekly.
