Bereavement Service
What does it do?
Supporting you in bereavement.
The death of someone close to us may be the most devastating and overwhelming experience that will ever happen to us. We will all react differently to the death of someone close, and there are no right or wrong ways to cope. The grief that follows a loss is not an illness but a normal human journey during which the bereaved person adapts to living without their loved one.
St Michael's Bereavement Service provides support for individuals who are bereaved and in need of extra support during this difficult period of grief. Individuals will be offered an initial appointment to talk through how their bereavement is impacting on them and we will explain what we are able to provide. Bereavement support can be given through one-to-one support or in a group.

Group support
A bereavement support group lasting ten weeks is also available for people who prefer to talk to others who are going through a similar experience.
