Show more "Some fortunate residents of Callin Court in Chester get a grandstand view of the Chester Races without having to move from their flat! Others are content to have patio doors leading from their ground floor apartments onto well maintained gardens and a courtyard. Here they might feel a sense of the history of the place, for back during the initial building stages of Callin Court a Roman arch was unearthed in the courtyard. Work had to be suspended to enable archaeologists to excavate the area.Originally opened in 1983, Callin Court was remodelled to provide Housing with Care apartments in 2005. This offers independent living with staff on site 24 hours a day to offer support and personal care as required. A dining room extension and a new state-of-the-art entrance is being undertaken in 2008.
Callin Court’s value is not just in its physical facilities, however. Of the care and support on hand, one resident wrote: “I have received a lot of extra care during the past year, since my husband’s stroke; never a word or look of complaint. I give 101 per cent to senior staff for their extra help, which has saved me from more heart attacks. Thank you.”" Show less
