Pub, restaurants, cafes, a social club and Seaburn Leisure Centre are all in walking distance of the court, as are the Post Office, doctors surgery, dentists, banks, places of worship and a range of shops. There is a Morrisons store one mile from the court.Local landmarks include the Whitburn windmill, which dates from the 18th century, a Grade 2 listed building considered to be of special architectural and historical importance. To the north of the village lies Whitburn Coastal Park, a popular spot for birdwatchers. There are regular buses to Sunderland and South Shields from stops that are a minute’s walk from the court.
Sunderland International Air Show and the Great North Run both take place five minutes from East Croft Court.
