Show more "Lea Court is a welcoming development in the attractive rural village of Madeley, just five miles from the town of Newcastle under Lyme on the Staffordshire / Shropshire border. Madeley is a quiet village but with a very active community. The court shares its building with the Madeley Centre, a large community facility which is managed by the villagers and boasts a wide range of social activities and amenities for all ages. There are many events held at the centre including a monthly rural food and craft fayre, regular concerts and clubs such as Darby and Joan, flower clubs and the University of the Third Age.
Madeley has a doctors surgery, convenience store, Post Office, dentist, pubs and several churches, while a number of larger supermarkets are a short drive away. Buses run every hour from a stop just across the road and will take you into Newcastle under Lyme or Crewe, or residents can choose to use the voluntary transport scheme or community minibus to get around. Crewe train station is 15 minutes’ drive away and provides connections to the entire mainline rail network.
Lea Court has a range of onsite facilities including a residents’ lounge, laundry, guest room, quiet reading areas, lifts and car park, as well as the facilities provided by the Madeley Centre. The court has attractive and well-maintained gardens with lawns, shrubs and mature trees. There is a pleasant seating area where residents can relax and enjoy the warmer weather or watch the squirrels and birds that visit. Each year the court receives a grant for planting bulbs and wildflower seeds and residents are welcome to join in. The gardens are used for occasional parties and fetes in the summer." Show less
