The Vintage Ukuleles
The Vintage Ukuleles performing an old time music hall act across the Kent region. The songs we perform are from the era when music hall sing-along acts were at their peak with tunes from yesteryear we take our audience on a nostalgic trip back to when songs were written to be enjoyed and performed well. We play all the good old ones and a few very old good ones which are guaranteed to get everybody singing along with or at the very least tapping their feet to. Our songs are arranged into medleys and include the following well known tunes;
Five Foot Two, Yes Sir, That's my Baby, You are my Sunshine, Side by Side, Bluebirds over the White Cliffs of Dover, Show me the way to go home, Happy days, lonely nights, For me and my Gal, On Moonlight bay, Ma he's making eyes at me, We'll meet again. etc
Another part of our act act is a Flanagan & Allan Medley with songs performed like Underneath the Arches, Hometown and Strolling. This includes dressing up in Bud's fur coat and straw hat etc and always go's down very well. Additionally, our Wartime Medley which includes ; Who do you think you are kidding Mr.. Hitler, Roll out the barrel, Run Rabbit and Wish me luck as you wave me good bye again includes costume changes which are always well received.
We play traditional banjo/ukuleles just like George Formby used to and wooden Ukuleles and dress in brightly coloured waistcoats with matching bow ties. Memories are guaranteed to come flooding back when you join The Vintage Ukuleles on a musical journey down memory lane.
