To The Activity’s Team/Staff

My Name is Rhys Watkinson and I am 21 years old. Starting this coming April, I will be starting care home activity sessions and would love to be able to engage, entertain and put a smile on your residents, staff and family’s faces. I have been an activity’s co-ordinator in a well-established care provider for over 2 ½ years and I know the struggles of finding time to do bookings, paperwork and spending time with the residents, as well as booking entertainment that is right for the residents and price. Starting in April I have decided to put together an entertainment package known as S.E.R Activities – Stimulate, Energise & Reminisce. All at a very reasonable price which is guaranteed to keep residents, staff and family’s all engaged and socialising for the full 1 and a half hours.

The Price of my session is £50 and I will do sessions for up to 1 ½ hours, covering 4 key areas;  Reminiscence, Social, Exercise,Music

These are 4 key areas that I have identified whilst working with the elderly that they keeps them stimulated and enjoy what’s going on. Reminiscence activity’s will be fun involving lots of old sayings, rummage boxes and past experiences that will really get residents brains working and you will be sure to learn something new about your resident. Socially the whole session will keep everybody socializing, even more so with a big main game, this will include a variety, from a game show, floor mats to big board games for all to join in. I am chair based exercise trained to deliver high quality exercise to adults and elderly within the care sector, this will keep residents active and energized. Finally it is scientifically proven that music helps people living with dementia, and as an activity’s team member I’m sure you notice what music does to your resident, to finish the session, one big group sing along, with a variety of songs ranging from the War Days, Elvis and Rock & Roll.
