With a number of years' musical performance experience, it is a pleasure to be able to bring my tailored musical set to care settings.
I sing songs that enable people to sing along and remember words to all-time favourites. It is wonderful to see the benefits to residents’ wellbeing, that music brings. I sing songs to quality backing tracks, with music from the 1940s through to 1970s, from Nat King Cole to Doris Day, to Shirley Bassey. Piano singalongs such as “It’s a Long Way to Tipperary” and "Daisy Daisy" are always a popular addition to the set and Rock n Roll songs always work well to get toes tapping and hands clapping! I also perform party classics such as The Locomotion and The Hokey Cokey.
During sessions, people enjoy singing along, joining in with percussion instruments and having an occasional dance. We also enjoy fluttering flags and shaking sparkly cheerleading pom-poms!
