We are a small troupe of belly dancers offering a lively and colourful performance for care homes. We start by handing out lightweight tambourines to the residents so that they can join in during the performance.  We then dance for around 20 minutes, a mixture of group dances and solos, with the use of various props (veils, canes, wings) where space allows.  We then invite all who are able (staff included) to get up and join us on the dance floor for a few minutes of freestyle dancing, followed by another group number by us to finish. We are consistently amazed by how many of the residents of the homes we perform for will get up and join in with us, and they seem to really enjoy and look forward to our visits (almost as much as we do).
