Share my Home Homeshare is an experienced national home share provider operating across London and the UK. The social enterprise carefully matches older people who have a spare room with caring individuals seeking affordable housing and who are interested in supporting an older person to live well at home.

The younger person known as a home sharer is typically a mature student or working professional. The homesharer provides 10 to 15 hours of weekly companionship and practical support, including a reassuring overnight presence in the home. 

Share my Home has a robust compliance process to ensure that all home sharers have verified professional references and enhanced police checks. The homeshare service was incorporated in 2017 to serve the growing need of company in older age as well as being able to offer affordable, comfortable homes for mature home sharers. It is run by a registered Occupational Therapist, Jennifer Petch.

The Home share steps:

1. We discuss what support is important to you when considering a live-in home sharer.
2. We then charge a £50 registration fee with a consultation contact.
3. We provide you with companion profiles to consider.
4. We introduce you to vetted companion/s.
5. We recommend having a trial period to ensure an ‘ideal’ match is made in which we facilitate this trial week stay.
6. We prepare the homeshare agreement for the householder/s and companion.
7. We set up the monthly subscription of £95 once the agreed match is made.
8. We provide you with regular support throughout the homeshare agreement and our offices are open 7 days a week for our paid subscribers.
