Our vision for our Home Care and Support Service is to support residents of Rotherham to live full, active lives; to live independently and to play an active part in their local community.

These services are the responsibility of Rotherham Council and NHS Rotherham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) who have a joint contract with care companies who employ the carers who visit you at home.

We have recently undertaken a scheduled retendering process which has resulted in us contracting some new providers while letting go of others. If your care company changes that doesn’t mean the care workers who come to your home must change.

From 1 April 2020 we are also introducing changes that mean you and your care workers will have more flexibility to decide when and how they support you at home.

At the same time carers will be focusing more on helping you to regain some of the skills you might have lost following a spell in hospital or an illness.
