Healthwatch
What does it do?
Local Healthwatch helps people who use health and social care services to influence how those services are delivered.
As the independent consumer champion for all health and social care services, Local Healthwatch organisations listen to feedback about services and share it with GPs, Hospitals, healthcare organisations, local authorities and others to make a real difference.
Since their launch in 2013, the impact of Local Healthwatch organisations is increasing and the benefits of listening to people who use services is better understood.
Help & Care plays a key role in ten Local Healthwatch services, bringing our considerable experience of working with people and communities, listening to their experiences and amplifying their voices to influence change. Help & Care works collaboratively with a range of partners, including Citizen’s Advice, to ensure people receive good quality information to support their health and care, are enabled to share their experiences, both good and bad and can access support if they need to make a complaint about an NHS service.
Each of the Local Healthwatch organisations we work with run as independent Community Interest Companies with Help & Care as a Member alongside our delivery partners and volunteer non-executive directors.
We are incredibly proud of what we have been able to achieve with Healthwatch so far, including national recognition for some of our work.
