Friendly Phone Calls Service
What does it do?
The aim of the service is to support and improve the wellbeing of clients struggling with loneliness. After an initial assessment of an individual's needs, a volunteer is assigned to call them each week and additional support is implemented where necessary.
Acting as expert lead for older people interventions as part of the Open Mental Health alliance, Age UK Somerset is working with the network to ensure that each older person who asks for it can receive the tailored support they need, when they need it.
