Disabled Facilities Grants

grants for home improvments and adaptations

What does it do?

If you are having difficulty living at home because of a disability, we may be able to help you to carry out essential adaptations so that you can continue to live independently. This work can be funded by a disabled facilities grant. You can apply for it if you own your own home, rent or live with your family.

Who it is for?

Homeowners, housing association tenants and private tenants can apply. Landlords can also apply for an occupant who is registered disabled or eligible to register as disabled. We will make an assessment to see if the works are practical and will provide the most effective long-term solution. In exceptional cases, if your home is not suitable for adaptation and, with your agreement, we may decide it is best to help you to move to a more suitable accommodation. If you are a Council tenant and would like to apply for housing adaptations to meet your needs, please contact us on 01329 236100 or e-mail customerservicecentre@fareham.gov.uk for further information.
