Most of the staff at Age UK Thanet are either Dementia Champions or Dementia Friends.  This training has given us an understanding of what it is like to live with Dementia and has helped us to treat our clients with understanding, patience and support to improve their customer experience at our Day Centre and Outreach venues.

A Dementia Friends Champion is a volunteer who encourages others to make a positive difference to people living with dementia in their community. They do this by giving them information about the personal impact of dementia, and what they can do to help.
