Volunteers providing community transport

What does it do?

Volunteer drivers provide transport using their own vehicles. 
The scheme can be used for doctor and hospital appointments as well as visits to the dentist, hairdressers, shopping trips, social groups and day centres.

Who it is for?

The Community Car Scheme helps people who are unable to access public transport in Northallerton, Bedale and surrounding villages.
Community Car Scheme users may have mobility difficulties, a disability or live in a remote, rural area. 

Where it is available?

Local service (Hambleton).

What it costs:

Hambleton Community Action offers transport at a charge of 45p per mile, plus an annual membership fee of £15.00.
Mileage rates are calculated from and back to the volunteer drivers home, and are paid to the driver or we can invoice users monthly.
There is a minimum charge of £2.80.
