Access Care

Thoughtful Live-in Care Supporting Independence at Home

What does it do?

Access Care is an independent, family-run live-in care introductory service established in 1994.

We arrange carefully matched introductions between private households and experienced self-employed live-in carers across the United Kingdom, helping people remain safely and comfortably in their own homes.

Our approach is highly personalised. Every arrangement is thoughtfully considered around not only practical support needs, but also personality, lifestyle, routines and the individual preferences of the person receiving support.

Many families contact us following hospital discharge, increasing frailty, dementia-related concerns, loss of confidence at home, or when planning ahead for longer-term support. Others seek short-term respite or companionship support to help maintain independence at home.

Services arranged through Access Care include:
• Live-in care
• Dementia live-in care
• Companion care
• Couples live-in care
• Respite care
• Convalescent care following illness or surgery
• 24-hour care at home

We work with experienced self-employed carers from a wide range of professional backgrounds and remain available throughout the journey to provide reassurance, continuity and ongoing support.

Access Care provides national capability with regional familiarity, supporting families throughout Hampshire, London, the South of England and across the wider UK.

Who it is for?

Older people wishing to remain safely and comfortably at home, individuals living with dementia, people recovering following illness, surgery or hospital discharge, couples requiring support at home, adults experiencing reduced mobility or increasing frailty, and private households seeking companionship, respite support, live-in care or 24-hour care at home.

Where it is available?

National service (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales).

What it costs:

The cost of live-in care varies depending on the level of support required, the experience of the carer and the complexity of the arrangement.

Typical live-in care arrangements arranged through Access Care generally start from around £1,300 per week.

Following an initial private care consultation, we provide families with a clear outline of likely costs and suitable care options tailored to their individual circumstances.

Some individuals may be eligible for financial support towards care costs, depending on their personal circumstances, savings and local authority assessments.

Families may also wish to explore Attendance Allowance, NHS Continuing Healthcare funding, or support through private funding arrangements.

We are always happy to provide general guidance during an initial care consultation, although independent financial advice may also be beneficial.

How to access or apply for it:

Families can contact Access Care directly by telephone, email or through our website to arrange an initial private care consultation.

During this conversation, we take time to understand the individual’s circumstances, support needs, preferences and household arrangements before guiding families through suitable live-in care options.

Consultations are available by telephone, Teams, in person or, in some cases, within the individual’s home.

What to expect then:

Following the initial enquiry and care consultation, Access Care will guide the family through the next steps of the process.

This may include discussing suitable care arrangements, answering questions, outlining likely costs and beginning the process of carefully matching appropriate self-employed live-in carers to the individual’s needs and household preferences.

Families will then receive further information about potential carers, together with guidance and ongoing support from our experienced team throughout the introduction and settling-in process.

Additional information:
