Day centres
What does it do?
Day centres are places for older people, disabled people or people who need extra support to take part in activities, catch up with friends and have lunch or a cup of tea.
Some centres offer chiropody or hairdressing for a small charge, or arrange trips out for groups of their visitors.
There's often transport available to get to and from the day centre and some centres have staff who are specially trained to help you if you're older or less able to move around.
Some day centres and their activities are open to everyone. Other centres are more specialised and we would need to assess you before you could use them or take part in their activities.
Note: some day centres are inspected by the Care Quality Commission and some aren't. It depends on what services the day centre provides and which organisation runs the centre.
