Safeguarding Adults

What does it do?

The service offers information, advice and support.

Who it is for?

For people aged eighteen and over and living in Lincolnshire.

Adults may be abused or taken advantage of by those in a position of power over them. Every adult has a right to:

A life free of fear
Be treated with dignity
Have their choices respected and not be forced to do anything against their will

Many adults especially older people and those with a physical and/or a learning disability rely on other people to help them in their day to day living.

They may be at risk from people they know such as a relative, friend, neighbour or paid carer. Sometimes people can be abused by a stranger.

Abuse can occur anywhere but it is likely to happen in their own home, in care homes, day care centres or hospitals
