Winchester Advocacy Project

Advocacy services for people in Winchester area

What does it do?

Advocacy is a partnership between an advocate and someone who needs support in speaking up for themselves. Advocacy can help you to find the information that you need, so that you can deal with your problems or plan for your future.

We can support you to make the choices that are right for you and also make sure that your rights as an individual are respected. Our advocacy service is free, independent and confidential.

Who it is for?

Our project can support anyone who needs help to speak up for themselves. This can be to do with things such as work, college, housing or family issues. We support people with a broad range of needs, with a focus on helping people with learning disabilities.

Our Advocacy Project covers the Winchester District.

This means that we offer our services in the towns and villages covered by Winchester City Council District as well as the city of Winchester.

We also provide a limited service in Andover and the Test Valley.

We offer advocacy support and Person Centred Planning (PCP) for adults with learning disabilities in Andover area.

Person Centred Planning is a process which helps people to think about their wishes and, with the help from important people in their lives, enables them to take steps towards achieving them.
