Advocacy in Mind

Advocacy for people with mental health issues in Bury & Rochdale

What does it do?

Rochdale & District Mind has been both promoting and providing independent professional advocacy as a positive way to improve the lives of people with mental health issues for many years.
We are an experienced local organisation and we are rooted in the local community.
We provided an advocacy service to over 1000 people last year.
We currently provide:

  • Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA)
  • Generic mental health advocacy (inpatient and community)
  • Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA)
  • Forensic mental health advocacy

Advocacy in Mind endorses Action for Advocacy’s Manifesto, “Achieving genuine voice, choice and control for all” which highlights the need for wider access to advocacy for all vulnerable groups.
