Silver Linings

home help and transport/company for older people in Hertfordshire

What does it do?

Silver Linings is a small, friendly service offering practical home and community supports.

There are times in our lives when we may need more support and knowing where to turn to can feel like wandering into a maze. Having one person you can trust to help you through is invaluable.

We tailor the services to fit the individual as opposed to fitting the individual to the service. We aim to give you choices and control on what support we can help you with or what other specialist help can be found in your local area.

Some of the supports we can provide are shopping, running errands, companionship, sitting with a loved one while carers get a break, help with paperwork/forms, pet assistance, telephone monitoring service, minor DIY jobs ie changing lightbulbs, putting up curtains. The list is not limited to this selection.

In addition a transport and accompaniment service is provided to medical and/or social and leisure activities or to visit friends and family

Its aim is also to increase health and well-being and maintain independent living hoping to reduce loneliness and encourage social inclusion.
